The Sales Manager leads Chemicaland’s entire selling function across Kenya and the wider African target markets. This includes:
* Delivering annual sales target
* Recruiting, training, and supervising sales agents, technical sales staff & regional personnel
* Executing a strong product distribution strategy
* Ensuring strict compliance with collection, banking, pricing, credit limits, and the incentive scheme
* Coordinating closely with marketing, production, finance, and operations
This role requires a decisive, high-performance, field-oriented leader with proven results in agro-inputs or FMCG.
A. Sales Strategy & Execution
* Lead development of 12-month sales plan and regional sales strategies.
* Grow sales, revenue, collections and market penetration.
* Lead van sales, agrovet stocking, distributor acquisition.
* Ensure pricing discipline and promotional compliance.
B. People Management
* Lead sales agents, technical sales executives, interns, and agronomists.
* Set regional targets and ensure daily/weekly reporting.
* Conduct weekly sales reviews and field coaching.
C. Customer & Distributor Management
* Acquire new distributors and agro-vets.
* Conduct route-to-market mapping.
* Ensure customer satisfaction and reduce churn.
D. Compliance & Reporting
* Ensure all incentives are based on collection & banking.
* Enforce penalties for delayed payments, bounced cheques, recalls, or order cancellations.
* Maintain real-time reporting dashboards.
* Diploma/Degree in Agribusiness, Sales, Marketing or relevant field.
* 5–10 years proven sales experience in agro-inputs or FMCG.
* Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role.
